i would am looking at this player to match with a fujitsu 42" hd plasma. the only issue seems to be the lack of upscaling (yes, i know it also doesn't play sacd's). is this a big deal? is it a better match with an EDTV than an HDTV? anyone with any experience?

Forget about the upscaling. The DV27A is a phenomenal player (Video and Music) and the Fujitsu is a great plasma.


Test component and then S-Video. I actually prefer S-Video on the Arcam/Fujitsu for a more filmlike picture. For 480i DVD's, I could not believe the entire PQ through S-Vid with this player and the Fuji AVM processing.


The Arcam's audio and video quality are awesome. If you use it to play 2 channel CD's, you're also in for a treat.
