Are Sony HDTVs good for Gaming?

I am looking for a new HDTV. I have several candidates. The titles say it all. Are Sony's good for gaming on the PS3? It is kind of broad question. I have been looking at the Sony 46HX729 if it needs to be specified.

Actually I am changing my mind. I am considering the Sony 46HX929. Now, would that be a good gaming PS3 performer? Is it really worth to shell the money for this TV to perform well for gaming?
