Are the Triad Gold Speakers THX Certified or Not?

Okay. I have just bought the Gold On Wall Surrounds which are listed on the Triad site as THX certified. The box they come in say THX certified, however the THX logo which is shown on the Grill in their product literature is missing from the grill in the box. Also looking at their product literature it doesn't mention the THX certification and only says "THX® Ultra Certification pending" also not even mentioned on the THX site.

Secondly the Gold Center is listed on the Triad site as THX certified, but again the same story in that its not on the THX site and also their own product literature says- "The Gold Center is THX-compatible, but not THX-certified."

The Fronts are definetly certified and also the Platinum Subwoofer. However the Gold Subwoofer isn't. The Silver Surrounds are mentioned on the THX and Triad site as certified but then the Triad literature says "THX® Ultra Certification pending". I have emailed Triad, but as this is the weekend I don't expect an answer to Monday however I thought someone whom owns or knows the product may know one way or the other.

It seems the surrounds are not THX certified either http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/frown.gif Also apprently neither are the Silver surrounds.

I am dissapointed Scott *my* aim was to get the best THX certified speaker package I could get. That and the fact that the speakers didn't come with any installation instructions and or mounting hardware is also dissapointing. I understand these are primarily for installation by installers however if they are to be sold in normal channels then one would expect these items. How can a manufacturer claim certification on a product box and continue to do on a website if this is not so. I now have to decider whether I still want to get the Triads or now go for the M&K S150 system http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/frown.gif

The only THX certified products in the line at this time are the InRoom and InWall Gold LCR and the video shielded Platinum PowerSub. The Gold Surrounds are still pending certification which is why you did not receive a THX logo.

Very intriguing...my neighbor has a set of Gold in-wall surrounds ... THX logo on the box and on the grills.

I recently purchased a Triad system consisting of a pair of InRoom Gold LCR, a InRoom Gold Center, a pair of OnWall Gold Surrounds, and a Platinum PowerSub. The InRoom Gold LCRs are THX certified as are the OnWall Gold Surrounds. The InRoom Gold Center is not THX certified. I confirmed this through direct correspondence with Triad. The InRoom Gold Center was not THX certified because its M-T-M configuration prevents it from having the necessary horizontal dispersion. Having said that, I have never noticed any lobing effects even when seated well off (probably 30 degrees) to either side of the center speaker. Do not place too much importance on the absence of that little THX logo. The Triads sound better than any other home theater system I have listened to including a M&K THX system which it severely bested.
My OnWall Gold Surrounds also have a THX logo on the box and on the grille. Personally I don't care whether these speakers are THX certified or not, in my opinion they are a superior product to the M&K S150 system of which I am quite familiar. With my amplifier and processor, and in my room, the Triad Golds are more neutral sounding, image better, and have more punch than the M&Ks. I have no regrets in my purchase of Triad speakers and would recommend them to anyone.
Scott I am mystified why they put the badges on your speakers. I'm trying to contact Larry Pexton over at Triad and also Mark at THX and I'll let you know what I come up with.
