I love my Next Generation remote control extender and currently use it with a Harmony 659, everything works great. Just for fun I would like to get a Harmony with color screen, but it seems they all use rechargeable batteries and therefore the Next Generation extender cannot work with them.

I have to use the extender because of my room arrangement, with that in mind are there any options I am overlooking?

Ok, then is there any way to replace the rechargeable pack with AA or AAA to make it work with the Next Generation remote extender?

No. You will have to use an IR repeater system if you want the 720, 880, or One. Or you could get the 890 and use it's RF base station.

Use your Next Generation with the Harmony 659 in a different room, or sell them.
