Just bought a new Panasonic 50PX50U and for the first 100 hours or so plan to have it set at :

Mode: Standard

Picture: +17

Sharpness: +15

All other settings: 0

It was set on "Vivid" mode and picture was [email protected] +30 out-of-box.

I never watch in 4:3 aspect, only "just" or "zoom" aspect so I never have side or top bars on viewing screen in order to avoid burn-in.

When I lower the "picture mode" to less than +15 the picture just seems so drab and dark even with a HD program. But in standard mode with picture mode at +17 the HD picture knocks your socks off it looks so real.

My question is...should I lower it even more during the break-in period or is it okay at my current settings of "standard mode," picture: +17, sharpness: +15?

I can lower it more than what it is now if that would be better during break-in but can't get as excited over the picture on the lower settings as with the "wow factor" at the higher settings.

Last one of those I tweaked was a little different.

I was ~18-19 on picture.

My sharpness was drastically reduced to minimize ringing ~-20 or less.

The color and tint were not 0, but close. I also probably turned off color management, video noise reduction, and had a warm color setting.
