Are they gonna have mega changer with DVI/HDMI output?

I know it's been asked before, but is any manufacture going to have an upconverting 300+ DVD changer with DVI or HDMI output? I've been waiting forever for it. Any idea? Thanks.

The only changer I know of that is going to have HDMI is the Yamaha DVD-C950 and it is only a 5 disk changer.

LAS VEGAS — Yamaha Electronics Corporation, the leader in digital audio and video reproduction, debuts the DVD-C950, a versatile high-quality DVD changer designed for the consumer who wants all the newest and best features in one easy to use player.

The DVD-C950 DCDi Faroudja progressive scan DVD changer features a 216MHz/12-bit video DAC that provides a high-resolution picture for a smoother, film-like quality when viewed on a HDTV or large screen. A new addition to the DVD-C950 is an HDMI interface digital video output, which sends uncompressed high-definition video and multi-channel audio through a single, this compact interface cable connects DVD players, digital TVs, set-top boxes and other audio and video devices. HDMI eliminates the annoying signal degradation that occurs in the signal conversion process with other cable setups.

The DVD changer supports both NTSC and PAL video signals, and can convert NTSC DVDs to PAL and vice-versa. There are five Video Picture Modes for detailed adjustments—Brightness, Sharpness, Contrast, Tint and Color—and each setting allows the user to enhance the picture for maximum quality depending on the lighting conditions in the viewing area.

In addition to its outstanding video compatibility, this universal audio DVD changer features a 192kHz/24-bit audio DAC that improves overall audio performances including the two most popular enhanced audio formats on the market today, SA CD and DVD-Audio. The DVD-C950 also supports CD up-sampling (2X and 4X) for an improved audio performance that provides smooth playback of ordinary audio CDs.

The DVD-C950 is featured packed and capable of playing most audio or video disc formats available, including DVD-Audio, Super Audio CD, DVD-Video, DVD+RW/+R (Video/VR format), DVD-R/-RW (Video format), SVCD, VCD, Audio CD, Picture CD and CD-R/RW. It is also compatible with DivX, WMA, MP3, and JPEG files. MP3 and JPEG files can be played simultaneously as musical slide shows, and are accessible with the player's Navigation Display.

Yamaha's patented PlayXchange has become an essential staple of its DVD players. This feature allows the user to open the tray and change four discs while the fifth one continues to play, so there's no need to interrupt the movie or music to add or remove discs.

Other easy to use features include a screen saver; CD Text Display; Resume (10-disc memory) Play; a 3-step dimmer; Disc Lock; and Multi-Angle, Multi-Aspect, Multi-Language and Multi-Subtitle capabilities.

The DVD-C950, priced at $549.95, will be available in April 2005 and can be seen during the CES 2005 show at Yamaha's booth (#9844) in the center hall, Las Vegas Convention Center , beginning January 6.

I bet that HD-DVD is where new product development is going.
