It's been a while since I've visited this board but figured something must be up because I have two Showstoppers with no channel information. They will not connect. I figured with both of them experiencing the same problem at the same time maybe a come problem existed. Any ideas?

Nope - server is just fine. You should try lowering your modem speed on both units and forcing a connect. It is possible your phone line has recently gotten some interference.


Also, try another dialup number. Sometimes, the lines simply stop working and you need to switch to another.

I am not entirely sure I agree. My old 3060 probably only manages to connect about 1 day out of 4 these days and there have been a couple of times that I have looked at the guide and there is no information at all. I sometimes have to run force connect 4 or 5 times before it will finally connect and download. I think they are cheaping out on the phone connect service somehow.

The numbers are supposed to be just Earthlink dialup modems, AFAIK. I don't see how they can make them 'worse' for Replay calls...! Now, it could be that a PC modem is more forgiving than the RTV modem.

It appears as though it is all Earthlink numbers I have that are local are the ones having the problem. So what do I do? Send Earthlink a message about their dial ups not functioning correctly.

Research all the local numbers to try http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...hreadid=304931 If you haven't already done so lower the modem speed to at least 33.6 for better connection.
