I know there has been a lot of buzz about these.Ups just brought mine, and although I will post on the Ascend forum later. I will say these are very nice.Right now I just have them hooked up to my desktop set up.Not the best room (kitchen) and a Yamaha A.R.V. no sub.later this week I will move them to the family room.I am waiting for some stuff to come in.I thought that I can get a good feel for them 2.0 at the computer.

In the family room they will matched up with a 15" sealed sub,a Marantz 7012, and Emotiva a-300 amp.Really the first time I have heard a true ribbon tweeter.:)

interesting looking speakers. Would love to swap-out with my Monitor Audio Gold GX-100 fronts just to compare, both feature ribbon tweeters:

I'm using a Parasound A51 amp
Marantz AV8802A home theater pre-pro
JL Audio F110 sub

Congrats on the new speakers. Dave went all out in the design with the new custom 6" midwoofer by Seas. It's one of the go to stand mounts in that price range. I look forward to your impressions in the Ascend thread once you've had some time with them in your main system.

Enjoy!

Please post your impressions here as well, even if it is just a copy and paste from the Ascend forum. Definitely look forward to hearing your impressions. It does sound like you are already enjoying the RAAL tweeter.

From what I've read the 2EX has even more bass than the 2, which was already pretty sufficient in 2.0 sans sub if music not movies is your main usage.

Hey, Zorba these will be music not movies and the wife watching the damed Hallmark ch.In the long run it will come down to are they good enough to replace the Revel f36s, in the wifes she shed .The revels would make a hell of a bedroom set up.Have not had a chance to turn them up yet.UPS beat the snot out of the outer box but Dave had them double boxed and so far I think they are in o.k. condition.

I got them hooked up in the family room with the better stuff.:)thhttps://www.avsforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=2605154&stc=1&d=1566329146at

Kind of digging the ribbon tweeter.Second pic. is the Revels.Waiting to get some black speaker wire so it wont show, also have a ac cooling fan coming for the Marantz but its only running the surrounds.Going to go with a phantom center.I have a center for the Revels but moved it to the bedroom with them.Dont watch many movies except when the grand kids come.

Did you ever post impressions or do you have impressions or your experience of the Sierra 2EX as a 2.0 computer desktop setup? I'm buying them for a computer desktop nearfield setup and would like to know how your experience of them was. Did you think one needs to sit a minimum distance from them for them to really sound good?

I had them at the desktop for just a few days and never ran room eq. on them but they were very good. They were only about a foot from the back wall and one was boxed in by a another wall but they weren't boomy at all.I did like them towed in a lot pointed at me. The bass on these things is outstanding, keep in mind that these are big speakers for a desktop. They are good at about 2 feet but to me they did sound better as you moved a little more away from them say 4 feet. The detail from the tweeter is the best that I have listened to.I think for a desktop setup the Luna because they are front ported and smaller might be the better setup if you could somehow put a sub into the mix.I read something that Dave said and I think that's what he said. You should give him a call.Real friendly folks.

Good luck and let us know what you do.
