I have a Toshiba CW34X92 TV and a Hughes E-86 STB. When watching 480i TV, I find it better to tell the E-86 that I have a 4:3 set and let the Toshiba TV change the aspect ratio using either the Theater Wide or Full setting. If I tell the E-86 that I have a 16:9, and chose the Cropped or Full setting on the Hughes, and then put the Toshia in either Theater Wide or Full, the picture is not as good. When I switch the E-86 to 1080i and watch Directv 199 or 509, I also switch the E-86 to 16:9, and HDTV looks great.

I would appreciate any comments. Thanks.

i do the smae thing with the 40h80 and the dst-3000 (which is the same as your hughes model) it seems like they got the two settings flip-flopped. maybe a software update in the future will resolve the issue.
