If I get a 16:9 screen, what do I do if I want to watch 4:3 stuff? I am planning on either NEC LT150 or 155 (really, really, really, reaaaalllly scared of rainbow!). When NEC is in 16:9 mode, I know it turns off the unused panels, but what if I want to watch DirecTV 4:3? Can I display it in the 16:9 ratio with bars on the side? I know I will be wasting resolution, but if I get 16:9 screen, this is the only thing I can think of. Please, let me know if this is possible, or, if not, then what I should do. Thanks.

It depends on what you want. If you want to fill in the whole 16:9 screen with a 4:3 video source, well you will lose in resolution, but you can do it ..... if you want to have full resolution well, you will have to view the screen with bars on the sides. I don't know if the NEC has this option, but I know of varoius projectors that have a user setting for the aspect ratio, where you can stretch the image or shrink it til it fills your screen completely. Of course losing resolution.
