This may sound like a silly question but will one of the new projectos with a 16:9 native aspect ratio still display a 1:1 picture?

We have a training / meeting facility where the client wants to upgrade all the A / V to make it "state of the art".

Specifically I'm looking at the HT1000 and the Infocus 5700 units.

These seem like good units for the cost.

The HT1000 is a 4:3 projector. You can choose to watch 4:3 material using the full panel, 16:9 material using the middle portion of the panel, or 4:3 material shrunk to fit centered within the 16:9 portion of the panel (if you are projecting onto a 16:9 screen).

The HT1000 is a home theater-oriented unit. If this is going to be used in a business context, I would recommend the LT-240K or LT-260k instead. They offer more presentation-oriented features, as well as delivering superb movie viewing if you choose.

You can find reviews of all these units at Projector Central .
