I've never been big on gaming but I've ordered a new laptop - an HP Envy with Windows 8.1, 12GB memory, 1TB hybrid hard drive, full HD display and NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GT 740M Graphics with 2048MB of dedicated video memory. I notice Assassin's Creed 1 & 2 package for a very good price. So I thought it might be a good time to try it out. However because they are older games, the requirements only indicate compatibility through Windows 7. Does anybody know if it will work with Windows 8.1 and above mentioned video card?

Thanks.

p.s. I know this laptop is not a HTPC, but I didn't see any area specific to PC gaming in general, so I put my question here. If I missed the correct place, sorry.

I finished Assassins creed 1 a few weeks ago, no problem loading in windows 8.1 for me, I did have to fiddle with the keybindings to use a controller but ended up going back to the keyboard and mouse
