Make sure it is not cross threaded. I had one that looked similar and found out I had cross threaded it. Unscrew again and look at threads.
It’s definitely not cross threaded. I snapped a pic of the thread profile and it’s definitely screwed all the way in. The threads on the tweeter are way longer than the hole. Is it possible it’s the wrong tweeter? I did buy these second hand. @Erich H?

Your installed photo looks fine. Just screw it in until it's tight and you're good to go. The threaded length on many compression driver models and brands vary. But as long as you screw it in until it's tight you're far enough in. If you're curious, just stick a piece of paper or a toothpick into the back of the woofer and mark how deep the threaded section is, then line that up with the threads on the compression driver.
