I've built a HTPC around the Asus M3N78-VM 8200 chipset board. The HDMI connector is attached to my Rotel processor and then the video is routed out to my projector - an Infocus IN76 1280x720.

However, I've found that if I switch to another HDMI source (my Skybox HD), or if I turn the system off (not the HTPC - that stays on) often when I switch back to the HTPC, the projector won't sync. If I vnc in to the HTPC I will often see that either the resolution has changed (from 1280x720 to 1280x768) and the attached display device will show Analog instead of HDMI.

I do NOT have a second display device attached to this HTPC, but this is getting to be beyond a joke. The only way to fix it seems to be to reboot the PC while the HTPC is the selected device on the processor.

Does anyone know what might be going on, and how it can be fixed?

ANY help is appreciated!!
