This drive is regionfree by default but I think the driver is bad in windows 2000/xp. I cant play regioncoded dvds (only region 0) in 2000/xp but without any problems in win98. I´ve tried programs like dvd region killer but no success.
I´ve noticed that in the properties for the drive in 2000/xp, there is a topic called dvd region and that it is 1 change remaining (it always says that it´s 1 change remaining even if I change region). In win98 there is no region info, and it seems like the win98 drivers understands that this drive is regionfree.
The error I get in PowerDVD in 2000/xp is 8090000D An unexpected copy protection error has occurred. Unable to play disc.
The driver is some Microsoft default using cdrom.sys, imapi.sys, redbook.sys nad storprop.dll.
Do anyone know about some other drivers or may it work with drivers for an other bran/model.
Thanks.
