I just ordered all the components for my first attempt at a HTPC. My decisions were based on what I needed after many hours of reading all the posts in this and other forums. My initial goal is to get the system set up for bit perfect audio to my processor in order to house my cd collection. Eventually I will move toward the HD video end of the deal. However, I have much to learn in this area.
Components are:
Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe
AMD A64 X2 4800+ 2.5 Ghz.
Windows XP Pro
Chaintech AV-710 adio card
Gigabyte GT8500 passive cooling video HDCP
2 Gig Kinston ram.
I am wondering if any of you who have this card, are getting bit perfect audio via the onboard audio chip.
Thanks for your help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
