Hi And thanks for reading this thread.

I have an asus stx II pc soundcard. In 7.1 and 5.1 mode the soundcard chops off the bass and sends it to the bass output on the daughter card.
In stereo and 4 channel, it also chops off the bass, but i cannot find where it sends the bass to.
I have tried all the outputs but cannot find the bass anywhere. Have tried the official asus drivers and also the ones from maxed tech.
Any advice please

Many thanks

What are you outputting to? 2 channel amp? Receiver? What are you playing? Game? Movies? Music?

If you're connected to an AV receiver and:
Playing movie: you should be *bitstreaming* the audio from the player. Not decoding it in windows. You should be using HDMI not anything else for this.
Playing music: windows should be set to 2 channel not 5 or 7 channel. HDMI still works great here.
Playing game: Windows should be set to 5 or 7 channels depending on which the game supports. HDMI still works great here.

Same rules apply to the sound card situation except the sound card output is inferior since it's limited to 5.1 and dolby digital / PCM output nothing newer.
