I read a thread recently having to do with outdoor projection, such as at block parties, etc.

I have an older Eiki LC-X2U (2700 Lumens) sitting in it's case in my closet while I use my light compact MP-38t for HT use.

Would this projector work well for outdoor nighttime viewing?

It's obviously very bright, has tons of inputs and is easy to use.

It's either use it for a drive in or sell it, what do you guys think?

The biggest technical issue with outdoor projection is not surprisingly light control. If the projector isn't ultra-bright, or you're not using outdoor rear projection (search for that thread), then you will have to wait late into the evening/night to start the flick. This is one of the reasons that I am delaying my big party until August when the days are shorter (compared to June). A bright projector is key. Quality is not as much of an issue as it is indoors.
