i think i found a typo on a Big box store website. they're indicating the Athena AS-F1.2 speakers for 49.95 (for the pair) anyone have these speakers? are they any good? is that a norm price or is it in fact a rather large oops?

I have a set paired with a Harmon Kardon receiver. They sound great, I've had mine for 2-3 years. You should jump on that deal because its an incredible bargain. The cheapest price in the states is $249/pr.

You're never gonna find quality floorstanders for under $50/pr again.


When first introduced they went for $199each.


Don't run any red lights getting to the store to pick them up!


p.s. If you find out you don't have room for floorstanding speakers, you should easily be able to sell them on ebay for 3-5 times the price you paid.

It might be a lot to expect - for someone who can't search or Google - to use eBay, though.

Out of curiosity I poked around on the web and found the price but its sold out. Probably hasn't been available for quite some time. I'm sure it was a clearance sale to liquidate remaining inventory.


Unless the OP has a different box store in mind.


I got mine on a clearance like that for $100/pr for demos that were in very good condition a few years back at Best Buy.
