help!


my new athlon64 3500+ / 2gig ram / geforce6800gt 256mb stutters all over the place when decoding .ts hdtv streams. im using the elecard decoder with wmp and i also get dropped frames when playing back wm9 1080p clips. it seems to be smoother using fusionhdtv though, but i think theres more pixelization.


the funny thing is, my pentium-m 1.7 laptop with radeon9700 64mb plays back the same streams no problem.


this doesnt seem right what could be going on? is the athlon just weaker at hdtv decoding?

most probably the elecard decoder

it cannot pass part of the decoding on to your video card like other decoders can

you should try using another app and the nvidia decoders especially with a nvidia 6800 series card

you know that card has a built in video processor but needs the nvidia decoders to use it


I would try either using an app like Zoomplayer w/ nvidia decoders, TheaterTek which come with the nvidia decoders, or nstant media which is included with the nvidia decoders


and you will need to update to driver 67.03 or newer to use the Video processor

Or if you've got Windvd5 or 6, try those decoders.
