Radeon 8500 HDTV Info - 3:58 pm EST - Ichneumon [Comments (0)]

Samiam posted the answers to a few questions he fired off to ATI in the forums the other day regarding clarifications on HDTV support in the 8500. They ought to be of interested to those of you with HDTVs, so i'll just slap em up right here.

Q. In the Radeon 8500 FAQ, it states that the card will support HDTV output. Will ATi be providing a DVI-to-Y/Pb/Pr component video cable with the retail package?

A. The board will not ship with a Y/Pb/Pr component video cable, however you will be able to purchase a DVI to YprPB sometime after shipment.

Q. Is the HDTV output 1080-interlaced or 720-progressive?

A. For HDTV we support 480i, 480p, 1080i, and 720p.

Q. Will the HDTV output only work with television signals, or will I be able to play games in HDTV as well?

A. Yes, with games you will output in the same way.
