Hello everyone, I just put a sapphire 9600 (non pro fanless) into my HTPC and I'm trying to have it switch between s-video (TV) and VGA (ae100 though just regular monitor for now). The problem I'm hitting is that if I ever plug both cables in I loose video signal. I can do one or the other when the machine boots up but I can never have both in (and thus obviously cant switch).

I understand that s-video and DVI aren't supported (or VGA using the DVI-VGA converter) but I'm using s-video and the regular analong VGA port which, from everything I can read, is supported.

Is there some trick I've missed or have I bought the wrong card? Any ideas would really be appreciated. Oh and I'm not trying to output to both at the same time - just one or the other using a hot key to switch is all I want.

Thanks in advance

Hi emo,

Go to the ATI website and download the user manual for the 9600. The manual explains how to use the 9600 with both VGA and S video connected. This should work for your Sapphire board too.

Had already checked that, It says to simply plug the 2 cables in which is what I did - no go. Looses video signal as soon as I plug in the second cable (or if I plug them in when shut down it never gets signal - not even post info)
