The VGA to component adapter won't work with a 9600. You must use the DVI to component adapter with that card.

Yes, I believe the VGA-component is for the 8500 family and older (to a point).

I have a DVI-component adapter I am no longer using (due to switching over the VGA all the way to the PJ) I'd sell. PM me if interested.

Guys,

Multiple web sites list that the VGA to Component adapter is compatible with:

The VGA-to-HDTV Component Video Adapter will enable component output

from your PC using:

RADEON™ 9800 Series

RADEON™ 9700 Series

RADEON™ 9600 Series

RADEON™ 9500 Series

RADEON™ 8500 Series

RADEON™ 8500LE Series

ALL-IN-WONDERŽ RADEON™ 9800 Series

ALL-IN-WONDERŽ RADEON™ 9700 (non-pro)

ALL-IN-WONDERŽ RADEON™ 9600 Series (including 9600XT)

Can anyone confirm that this will only work with 8500 and my original question regarding using a VGA extender?

Thanks!!!!!!

I don't know, but I trust ATI to give me correct info about their own products more than I trust any other website. Besides that, I've never heard of anyone ever using the black adapter on a 9600 (non-AIW).
