I've got a Radeon 9700pro, I love the card and I decided on the Panasonic L300U projector which has Component and DVI inputs.

I'm picking up a Component Switcher so it some ways it may be easier just to order the ATI dongle and run a componet cable to the switcher. However if DVI allows more options and quality, it may be worth just geting a long, however expensive, DVI cable.

I plan on keeping a monitor connected to the computer, and using the projector mostly for games and not for web surfing.

Which has more advantages?

DVI yields usually better PQ. I would connect the PJ via DVI and the monitor via VGA (I assume it is a CRT).
