ATI DVI output question

258 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  madpoet
Is there anyone with experience outputing 1920x1080i with both a transocoder and DVI on an ATI 9800 (or 9xxxx)?? If so, is the overscan about the same using both output methods, or is DVI harder to fit on the screen?

I'm currently using a trancoder with my ati9800pro outputting at 1920x1080i. I'd like to try a DVI connection, but I'm afraid that the overscan will be too much to handle.

I have a 9000 Pro connected to my JVC-AV36P903 via DVI. I've never used a transcoder, but why do you think the overscan will be worse with DVI? 1920x1080i does have quite a bit of overscan, but I can get just the right amount of overscan with 1800x1016i for HDTV via Fusion and DVD.

Sean.
It's all about Powerstrip :). A lot of Overscan issues can be dealt with.
