I am using the ATI 4890 card for my home theater. I use the audio from this cable for my theater room. Sometimes I have other TV's on in the house and have them hooked up via a video audio distribution system. I want to be able to output the audio out on my mother board (im fine if its just 2.0 stereo analog) at the same time as my HDMI audio out. I can only enable one device at a time in Windows 7, can I just "clone the audio" somehow? seems like a simple request, but cant seem to figure it out.

Setup:

Windows 7 64bit

ATI 4890 card

Gigabyte UD5 mobo

I'm using an ATI HDMI out on a 2600XT and have the same situation. Only audio output is with HDMI when that device is selected and I don't see any way of getting around it. I'd have thought by now that they would have found a way to make the HDMI sound available to all other outputs.

If Windows 7 is the same as Vista in this respect, then it is not possible. You can only select 1 device at a time.

Another option you can consider is using a HDMI splitter device to repeat the HDMI signal and carry the HDMI over CAT6 to your other TVs.
