i bought a powered UHF/VHF antenna and now i'm getting all 4 of my local HD's in Atlanta. I heard that NBC here is actually VHF, but when i had the radioshack bowtie i was getting NBC fine (and that's a UHF antenna). How can that be?

Because i had my receiver set up wrong, i thought NBC was all i was getting, which is why i bought the larger and more expensive antenna. Now i'm thinking the radioshack bowtie will probably do me fine, but i want to make sure me getting the VHF hd station (channel 10 in atlanta, NBC's digital channel #) wasn't a fluke.

thanks

I have the double bowtie antenna and it works just fine for WXIA. Don't sweat it, as it's not a fluke on your part.

:)

VHF channels typically are strong enough to be picked up by a simple and even poorly tuned antenna. VHF propiagtes better at lower power levels than UHF as well.
