[Big Picture]

I need to select speaker for my 20X30X8' HT. So far I seem to have narrowed down to above subject speakers. For processer/power I'm thinking Dennon 4800 and Outlaw 5X165 to bi-amp fronts. I want a DD THX/EX setup.

I use the AT 450 system myself. Not only are they great for movies but also sound great for music also.

But I am using a different sub.

After installing many of the AT and NHT speakers I must say that NHT beats AT handsdown.

The NHT is much more accurate in highs and lows than the AT.

The AT is more "mid range designed" from AT a the last CEDIA show. Having NHT at home as well maybe an indication of my opinion. Take a well recorded CD with lots of vocals and A/B the speakers. The voices are much more defined and lively on the NHT where as the AT they are very flat. IMO


Clear cut choice if you ask me.

Did you have a sub woofer to use before you got the 450 system or did you pick another sub for different reasons, what reasons?
