This sub has served me well for the last nine years but it is the oldest piece in my theater setup. But before I upgrade, I was hoping that maybe someone here used to have this sub and has already upgraded to something in the $600 range or so and can tell me how much better the sound might be.

My parents have this sub, and while its pretty good, my HSU VTF2 hits lower and harder. There is a noticeable difference. If you play music a lot, I would get the best HSU you can afford. If you are primarily HT, get the best SVS you can afford. Its as simple as that.
