Atmos Speaker Alternative

Im setting up my HT in a single story garage with a picthed roof. The roof area is empty so I can do anything. I was initially going to put up 4 MTX 8inch circular speakers. But im thinking i have some large 1 foot bookshelf speakers Mission 701. I was thinking of fitting them in the loftspace facing downwards. They would be much louder and bassier but less diffused that regular ciecular speakers. For looks i would make a thin grill frame over the ceiling area where the speakers are facing down. In term of performance is this a good idea or shall i stick with the MTX's ??? I have 4 701's already that I can use. The rest of my speakers are very large Mission 70 series.

Thx

If you can fit them I don't see why not. your AVR's room correction will level match.

No reason not to use the Missions. Just be sure you have them attached really well. I suspect they would make a good dent in whatever they fell on.

I already broke my back dragging 2 Creston 16X60 amps into the room at 42KG each. But if one of these landed on my head it would be game over :)

Just occurred to me that you could use the "thin film frame" to improve your safety. Just add a netting above the screen, so it's hidden. If by any chance one of the speakers fell due to earthquake, or whatever, the netting would catch it.
Thanks fellas, i will deffo use the 701's as me atmos speakers. Definatley 4, but maybe 6. I'm super slow at these things but i'll do a build thread once i get started. Btw im based in the UK so not much in the way of Earhquakes, Brexit will probably rattle a few things loose tho 🤣
