Ottawa HT Group.

I’m hoping to start a regular monthly meeting that takes place in the Ottawa area with anyone interested in Home Theatre. We could have the meetings take place the first Friday of every month and at a different member’s house each time. I’m hoping that most of the people who were at Bruce’s house on Sunday helping out with the CRT raising will show some interest and join in, I personally had a great time and learned a lot just walking around the room listening to the many ongoing conversations. The room was filled with many people who know their stuff! :)

I would also be willing to make a web page (nothing fancy) once I get a list of all the members, it could include links to your own site or HT pictures, equipment listings, email addresses of everyone in the group.

Please get back to me and let me know if you are interested, I think that it would be a lot fun and could be beneficial to all.

All are welcome.

Please send me a private message and your email addresses or you can just email me at: [email protected]

Thanks,

Mike Horrigan

You know, if you guys get organized, perhaps you could move the meetings to Parliament Hill, and show those guys there how to run the country!:D

Wow - that was pretty fast!

I've got a digital camera so if we want to post images from the meets we'll be ready. Only problem may be the limited monthly bandwidth & overall limited storage space at Geocities.

Hi Guys,

If you need somewhere to host the website I run a webserver at home and I would do it for nothing. I cannot guarentee 100% uptime however I can give you all the disk space you need. That machine has over 250 gigs on it. It is my ftp server also ;)

I really need a little help fine tuning my pj. This is the first one I have ever owned and I would like to have "mentor" almost to make sure I don't fry my machine and to help me see what the machine is capable of.

Thanks,

I have no idea but I would really like to attend. I have never even seen another CRT PJ in action so I have nothing to compare mine too.

If any Ottawa member would be willing to spend an hour or so with me helping me with my pj setup I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Tim

Hi guys! Email me and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Ripper, I saw your email a few minutes ago, I'll get back to you in the morning and we can set something up. I would be happy to spend some time with you going over your PJ, I'm no expert but I'm sure that I can help.

Take care,

Mike

I just found out that the guy I got my pj from was running it on a 7' by 7' screen now I am running a 4:3 screen that measures 10' diag. Does this mean that I need to do a mechanical convergence? I find there are problems with the edges. Some overlap and image wrap... Can this be cause from the difference in screen size.

Thanks,

Tim

I am not even sure exactly what pj I have... I do know that it is an old Electrohome and there is only one lense on front but three tubes inside. I don't know the model number...

I would love it if someone could tell me what I own. I only paid $500 CAD.

Ripper;

Did you get that PJ from Brian? Do't say where, here on the forum out loud (we guard our sources jealously sometimes).. but just if it was Brian or not.. just curious.

Does it have a yellow stripe running around it? It may be a ECP graphics. (1024x768, and 55khz scan range) Basically a ECP 3000, in a ECP 2000 chassis.

If it's a older ECP 2000, (completely white, with no stripe, or the stripe may be black/grayish in color) I have a person who has the manual, and entire PJ for you, with MINT tubes for $150. It has a slight problem, but everything is intact.(one blown tiny transistor). It is located right in the Ottawa area. An excellent parts machine.

This is definitely a Electrohome ECP 2000, or ECP Graphics. It looks like Darth Vader'sTie Fighter, without the end wings.

If it has four long doors with manual controls on the backside, it is a ECP 2000. If it has no doors, and has digital controls, and is looking to use a remote as well.. it is an ECP graphics.

Yes it does have a yellow stripe around it. I paid $500 buck CAD was it worth it?

Yes it is an ECP Graphics because it does use a remote and has some digital controls.

I would definately be interested in buying that pj for $150. Does this pj run and if not could it with a little tlc and work?

Brian who? The guys name was Brian but I am not sure if he is a member here. The guy I bought it off was selling it because he got an lcd.

Same guy?
