Audessey MultiEQ vs Yamaha YPAO or does it really matter?

Guys,

I am moving into a dedicated theater room and I want to optimize my setup. With regards to tools to use for this, which one is better of the two?

I already have a Yamaha RX-V3800. If the answer is the MultiEQ then would a stand alone unit like the Neptune EQ be recommended ?? (I know the price is unreal but lets forget about that for a moment!)

I am attaching a picture of my plans so you could see the room shape. The room is 22x11x9

thanks!

Hard to say if MultEQXT would be better without measuring the room and what improvements YPAO makes to it. OTOH, why consider the Neptune and not the Audyssey Sound Equalizer if additional EQ is needed?
Yea and they're still highly expensive. What about Perpetual Tech's offering? Are they even still around?

Dunno but the R-DES only does the sub and there are other options for that, as well.

R-DES is now R-Dead.

With the room treatments you've pictured, I'd expect either YPAO or MultiEQ XT to be enough. The version of YPAO on your V3800 goes down at least to 40hz if not lower. With a decently treated room I'm not sure if investing in more expensive room correction electronics is all that necessary.
To the OP,

I had a Yammy with YPAO before I got my Onkyo 885 with Audyssey. No comparison. I did not like the YPAO EQ at all... never used it... turned it off after the calibration/EQ.

OTOH, Audyssey is terrific. My system has never sounded so good. An unqualified recommendation from me, FWIW.
(Just be sure to use the Audyssey setup guide:
