Audeze is well known for its high-end, ultra performance planar-magnetic headphones. Now the company has announced that it has developed a wireless gaming headset called Penrose featuring this driver technology. The result promises to be a gaming headset that's aimed at Xbox and PlayStation consoles, that delivers the fidelity of audiophile headphones.

According to the press release, Penrose expands the Audeze gaming lineup consisting of the LCD-GX and the Mobius 3D Surround gaming headset for PC.

The Penrose headset features 100mm planar-magnetic drivers and a high-quality microphone. A provided 2.4 gHz wireless USB dongle allows for the gaming console connectivity, but these headphones also work with Bluetooth 5.0 devices like mobile phones and tablets. This allows for both full-bandwidth wireless sound and Bluetooth, and you can have both connections active concurrently.

the Penrose headset is slated to sell for $299 retail, with Audeze offering a $50 discount on the first 1000 preorders  through its website .
