Maybe this has been clarified allready but couldnt find any useful threads.

I have an old Creative Audigy soundcard which has a 3.5mm digital output and I can only get stereo sound and not dolby digital 5.1 or DTS passthrough to my reciever.

Anyone know what the problem might be or cant the Audigy passthrough DD and DTS altough it says it can?

Does your player (which player are you using?) output DD or DTS instead of stereo PCM?

I have it connected to the recievers coax input from the audigys 3.5mm digital out by a 3.5 to coax adapter and then a coax cable.

Didnt really get the "what player are you using" question as Im using the computer. The program I use is VLC and I used a DVD that has DD and DTS.

"Player" means the software player you use. VLC in your case. At least you have to configure VLC audio output correctly.
