Does anyone else think the audio output level of the Wii is way too high? Is there something I can place in line with my AV receiver?

Depending on your receiver, you may be able to adjust it within the receiver. I have a Denon 2807 and you can set every input to adjust up or down db when the input is selected.

Thanks. That looks like it'll do the job. Unfortunately I can't adjust the input levels on my receiver so I need an external attenuator.

I can't remember what Denon I have off the top of my head, but I don't remember seeing any settings like this. Do you remember where they are? I'm going to have to look for that tonight.

It is in the audio input setup of mine. The option is #4 and called "Audio Input Function Lev" It's on page 44 and 48 of the 2807 manual.

Well, I have a 2105 and it doesn't offer this feature. Too bad.

for those with Onkyo receivers, it appears you set the input sensitivity with "IntelliVolume" feature.


Setup->Input Setup->select wii source "ie. video 2"-> bring the sensitivity down -3 or -6dB


I'm going to try this out soon as I frequenly hear audio clipping / distortion in the wii menu, and most commonly... dragonball wii.

[ update: it worked!! ]
[ update 2: heard clipping in DBZ again...just once... but still

I've already got the input volume @ -6dB ]
