Tonight I watched Super Bad which has True HD and Uncompressed PCM. I used the uncompressed PCM track. Since I have a Onkyo 885 I can handle all of the new codecs. Still I wondered if there was any gain to using the lossless True HD over Uncompressed audio. No compression should sound better I would think.

What do you guys think? I'll try to do an A B in my room.

They sound the exact same. Although I would argue that the bass hits ever so slightly harder with the PCM. I think this topic has already been covered in the movie's BD thread.

Don:

Over in the sister forum for HDM software, there have been a number of threads debating this topic. I ran a quick search and here's one of the largest ones

though it's closed due to bickering. This will be of interest. There are others too, which if you have any follow up questions, can be posted in a previous thread on the same topic.
