I have a question regarding the importance of audio codecs. I have a new Sondigo Inferno. As soon as the cables get delivered, I'm going to connect it to my HK 430 via the analog inputs to see how it sounds. I'm using Vista home premium which includes a dolby digital decoder. Is there an advantage to using another decoder such as windvd, powerdvd, or nvidia with media center?

You may want to use ac3 filter or ffdshow audio decoder to resample dolby digital or dts for your analouge outputs, however as long as your built in codec is working properly, i wouldnt bother.
