I've been busy upgrading my computer's audio system, primarily for recording purposes. I'm using two separate interfaces: Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 and Avid Eleven Rack. Both are 24/96 systems connected over USB. Both ship dedicated system drivers (though these may merely be ASIO and class compliant drivers). When running either one in 96 kHz mode, normal Windows audio playback will begin to corrupt shortly after it starts -- about a 20 second timeframe. It's not long but it's not instant. This occurs from WMP, foobar2000, and flash video running in Chrome. System is Windows 8.1 x64, Core i5-750 with 16 GB of RAM, Radeon 7970, and an SSD. I have tested USB ports on and off the motherboard. I have tested other USB cables.

While this isn't a catastrophe for me, I don't like having to jump between 48 and 96. Plus I've bought this 96 hardware and I'd like to use it. Does anyone know what the cause of the problem or potential solutions might be? Thanks.
