I just picked up a Pioneer 578A universal player yesterday (thanks to recommendations of this forum, btw) and in hooking up the multichannel audio I realized I had two unused Monster component video cables that I could use for the six audio signals. Is there any problems doing this?
No sir. None whatsoever. That's exactly what I'm going to do when I get my setup. As long as they're rated 75 ohms, which those are, you are good to go!
It'll work, but not necessarily as well as a cable designed for the audio frequency range. You could always try swapping a pair of them in for your main channels and see if you can hear a meaningful difference. If not, then that's that.
