I have a receiver that does not support HDMI. I understand that HDMI transmits both audio and visual signals. Now my intent is to run the HDMI from the Blu Ray into the TV and then use a digital optical audio connection (or some other type of audio method) from the Blu Ray player to the receiver. Is it still possible to use a HDMI cable in this configuration for video. Thank you.
