I'm recording movies from cable with my ES10. On most programs I can hear the audio when recording if I monitor the ES10's output with my TV.

But on some there is no audio heard during record .. so I need to monitor it on another output of the cable box.

This is no big deal, since the final recorded disks all play back with audio -- whew!

But:

o Why do I get audio on record monitor with some programs and not others?

o Is there a setting to get it with all programs?

First, check your cabling to make sure its OK.

Another thing it could be is that you somehow have the SAP audio selected for playback instead of the main audio.

I think PatswonSB is Correct.

For a quick test try tunning in one of the stations that your not getting the audio on & then keep pressing the "Audio" button on the Remote Control & see if you can get the sound to come in.

Also check the Audio Settings in the Recorder's Menu & also make sure you check the Audio Menus on your Cable Box or Sat Box if you are using one because maybe they got changed by mistake also.

Audio Settings:

MTS = Stereo Audio

SAP = Second Audio Program

(Whatever the station feels like transmitting on it & it can be a Second Language, Weather Reports, Emergency Information & Etc or "Nothing At All").
