Im interested in utilizing my Aura Pro Bass Shakers only where appropriate... I dont want them doing there thing during dialogue etc...

Should I utilize a 50Hz low pass filter? Will this be a good or bad idea?

BTW, Im going to be running the pair of pro bass shakers from my LFE OUT of my Denon 5803 w/ the crossover set to 80Hz...

Suggestions/comments welcomed...

Many people do that including me. One thing though is that low pass filter cuts the overall output. So play with it both ways. Its a cheap purchase as they just plug in line with the RCA cables. Brian

I use an Alpine active dividing network and crossover used for car stereo applications. It has gain control, phase control, and of course the low pass and high pass variable crossover controls. I am currently running two pairs of Aura pros. One pair is on the upper level under the deck while the other pair is under the front deck seats. I have them crossed over at different frequencies for the reason that I was looking at two different resonant frequencies of the surfaces to which they were bolted. I'd love to go into more detail of the actual calibration and why, but I don't believe any of you would run into the exact situation and have a dedicated 4 channel amp and active crossover to accomplish this setup. If there are any that do, I'll gladly tell how I did it.
