Is it possible to automatically create chapters every 5 minutes? I know there are software packages that do this and was hoping the E80 supported it as well.

If you record to the HDD with DVD-R compatibility mode "off" and subsequently dub to DVD-R (it will be in real time, since the high speed dub option is not available for a non-DVD-R compatible mode recording) or record directly to DVD-R from the line inputs, the DVD-R will automatically create 5-minute chapter stops upon finalization. Automatic chapter stops are never created on DVD-RAM or HDD recordings.

So are you saying if I have DVD-R compatibility turned on, it won't automatically create the 5 minute chapter stops? Is there a reason to have that turned on or off?

If you make a normal "real-time" dub, the chapter marks will be automatically installed.


If you first copy the program to the HDD, you can selectively add chapter marks and then do a"high-speed" dub (the marks will be included in the finalized DVD-R).


"DVD Compatibility" needs to be selected if you want the ability to use High Speed dubbing, which is lossless.
