I use my HTPC to watch my DirectTivo, to watch shows captured to AVI files, and DVD's from the DVD drive, or from ISO images. I want the DVD's to output Dolby Digital sound.
Is it possible to be watching an AVI file that may be in stereo, then pop in a DVD and hear it in Dolby Digital, then switch back to an AVI, all without having to visit a sound control panel to change input/output settings? If so, please describe your setup (hardware, software, settings). I have an Audiophile 2496 and PowerDVD and haven't been able to do it yet...
