Hi all I was considering relocating all my ht equipment into a enclosed cabinet in my garage. It would consist of a reciever , cable dvr box , xbox one , and a boxee box (htpc).

The garage is on the opposite side of my den, and isn't insulated. Is this dangerous for my ht components ?

I have seen people running computer racks in the garage in the DC area for years without problems. However, condensation is a risk especially when it is cold outside. Best way is to somehow build a closet in the garage and run a HVAC trunk to the closet to keep consistent temperature. Or you can reframe the walls and make the A/V closet part of the insulated living space.

I wouldn't do it... it will probably get way too hot in the summer, and too cold in the winter. Hot / Cold cycles are hell on electronics
