Please, bear with a novice.

I am considering buying in-wall Triad speakers (3 Bronze/4 LCR + 2 satellite), to drive these I am looking at the Outlaw 1050 AV receiver.

1. Can I use this receiver to drive only 5(1) speakers, rather than 6(1)?

2. I am considering for a subwoofer the HSU Research VTF-2 would that combination work ?

Thank you

I would think that combination would work great. The bronze series of Triads were designed to be run with a receiver. The outlaw has a good amplifier that would easily handle the Triads, but it seems to be a little dated. Personally I would look into something that is not so dated. There is a lot to choose from. I would recommend looking at Harmon Kardon. They offer a great amplifier section along with superb processing of for both home theater and 2 channel. If you watch one call they run specials on HK equipment from time to time and are great to deal with, if you want to buy via the internet.

Good luck with your decisions. I have heard great things about the HSU line.
