I am looking to upgrade my old AV amp, and like most people on these forums am looking for at least 3 (preferably 4) HDMI ports.


The other requirement on my purchase is transcoding from analog to digital, with scaling too (i could use a seperate video processor, but just more cabling, configuration and compatibility issues that I really would like to avoid).


From my research so far, it looks like only the Denon 5805 or the 4806 have what I am looking for, but I am still not clear yet whether or not they both support the transcoding and scaling that I am looking for.


other than these 2, and the Samsung AV-R3000 anyone want to use this thread to keep a list of AV amps that meet these requirements that nearly everyone has?

The Denon 4806 does not have a scaler.
