I hava an HDMI source with 6 channels of audio which is not encoded into a dolby 5.1 stream, but rather simply normal PCM audio embedded in the HDMI. The AV7701 is only picking up the first two channels of audio, regardless of what mode I set it to. "PURE DIRECT" Dolby surrounds, DTS surrounds, or AUTO.

Is it possible to extract (de-embed) 6 channels of audio embedded in HDMI if they are not encoded as a dolby stream?

I'm using this in a Post Production environment.

Sorry folks, I solved the problem. It was… cough cough… user error. I had a piece of gear in the chain (an SDI to HDMI converter which was only passing 2 channels. Now its working. Thanks
