"AVIA Pro" Launched At CEDIA EXPO 2003"

Ovation Multimedia launched "AVIA Pro," a new multi-DVD calibration, setup, and test suite for home theatre environments. "AVIA Professional" ("AVIA Pro") offers users a combination of state-of-the-art test patterns and industry standards to optimize sound and video quality. The announcement was made at CEDIA EXPO 2003.

"AVIA Pro," to be released in the fourth quarter of 2003, also contains industry standards as well as monitoring and placement technology. The initial release of "AVIA Pro" will consist of six discs and a user manual. As standards change and new test patterns are developed, Ovation Multimedia will release new discs and manual chapters to help home theatre enthusiasts, manufacturers, and professionals remain current on the latest audio/video calibration technologies.

"This is the most technologically advanced solution available for home theatre environments," said Guy Kuo, President of Ovation Multimedia. "Using 'AVIA Pro' takes the audio-visual experience to new levels by not only improving traditional signals, but also by permitting functions never before possible."

"AVIA Pro" has more than 1,000 new test signals, with approximately 3,000 variations. "AVIA Pro" provides offers its users substantial flexibility with its variation of patterns. Users can select the pattern best suited for their needs, resulting in a customized test pattern generator for each project. Special emphasis was made during product development on testing and adjusting widescreen and newer video and fixed-pixel display technologies, including LCD, D-ILA®, DLP™, LCoS, SXRD™, and plasma.

Additional components of the "AVIA Pro" disc library include:

- More than 100 DVD home theatre audio tests and sound tones for Dolby® Digital and DTS® Digital Surround® (up to 7.1)

- CEA Standard Method of Measurement for DVD Players, based on NTSC specifications; the CEA disc contains a suite of audio and video test signals to gauge and evaluate DVD player performance

- SMPTE monitoring technology, to alert users to equipment errors in the motion imaging industry, particularly focusing on test patterns for color and motion

- RPG Diffusor Systems' Room Optimizer and Room Sizer, software programs designed to help users achieve an optimized acoustical experience, eliminate distortion, and provides information on the design of the critical listening room environment or studio

- Genesis Microchip test patterns to optimize microchip technology and achieve lifelike, visibly better images

Despite the large number of test patterns and sound tones, Ovation Multimedia says that "AVIA Pro" is easy to use by navigational menus, direct access capabilities, and task suite grouping.

AVIA Pro will be available through direct sales at www.ovationsw.com or www.aviapro.com. The cost is $400.
