Hey, I'm going to be getting my first crt rptv in a couple days and I'm wanting to order a calibration disk but i'm not sure which one of these I should choose. The avia dvd is $37 and the DVE is about $20, so could someone tell me the difference?

I have both DVD's. I don't have a good technical review, but I've heard that the color filters in the DVE are better than the Avia. Ultimately it hasn't mattered to me as I can turn off individual panels of my LCD set.


I find the navigation, explanations, and menus on the Avia to be much better. In fact I must be missing something important on the DVE menus -- the only way I've found to get to various features is to use the printed chapter index.

Get both. I did, along with "DVD Demystified" by Jim Taylor. They all have features the other lacks.
